The Johnstown Flood of 1889 was stopped in its tracks by one thing. Ironically enough, it's something that was in that flood -- stone(s). The old stone bridge for the railroad held back 90% of the flood's fury, saving many downstream. This cache will take you to the site where undoubtedly many have seen photos and movies depicting this awful event.
